Class Description, Fees & What’s Included

This art program is broken up into three parts throughout the year to focus on each separate type of media and art skills using that media. Students will be given two hours approximately to complete their work, which is two class periods. Every third class we will use that time for another important skill for our little artists, which is an opportunity to showcase their artwork to the class and verbalize the inspiration and details behind what they created! Other students will also learn how to give positive feedback and encouragement to their fellow artists. This is also a great bonding experience for students to communicate and encourage each other.

Session Descriptions

• Session One:
  This 10 week session will cover both black and gray drawing techniques which will include how to create texture as well as blending. Then we will move into drawing with colored pencils and creating colorful masterpieces!

• Session Two:
  This 10 week session covers painting! Students will get to use both watercolor and acrylic paints. They will learn how each one is unique and requires different techniques!

• Session Three:
  This 10 week session provides students with the opportunity to combine their ability to draw, use paint and include other various materials in order to create multimedia art works, such as collage!

Fees & What’s Included

This program has three separate parts, you can choose to either enroll your child for the whole year to secure your child’s spot or reenroll at every new enrollment period as you choose.

Spots are limited to 20 kids per class. The fee for each new session is $250. This will cover all art lessons/supplies along with their very own mixed media sketchbook that will be theirs to take home and share with you at the end of the session period. Bite-sized candy will be available to provide a little encouragement for hard work and good behavior. Your child will leave with one at the end of each class! Please let me know if your child has any allergies.

The first two weeks will be a trial period for your child to decide if this class is right for them! A prorated refund will be issued if by the end of the second class your child decides this is not a good fit for any reason! I truly want happy dedicated artists and I understand children can change their minds. After the two-week period refunds will not be issued. Thank you for understanding.

Behavior Expectations

It is very important to me that this class be a positive, peaceful, uplifting environment for all artists, so bad behavior will not be tolerated. This includes bullying of any kind, abuse of art materials along with disrespect to fellow students or me. If this happens, a phone call home will be made, and a warning will be issued. If the bad behavior after that continues, unfortunately, your child will be dismissed from the program.

Time and Dismissal information

This is an afterschool art program that will run from 2:15 pm to 3:30 pm. Please pack an extra snack for your child for the beginning of class, as children tend to be hungry by the time school ends. For dismissal, we will have your child ready to be picked up in the parent pick up car line at 3:30 pm, or if they are in aftercare, they will be dismissed to aftercare. Please let us know how your child will be dismissed. Also, it is very important to be on time to pick up your child at 3:30 pm, continuous late pickups will result in a $5 fee.
